8 investigations related to loverboys

In May 2015, the Federal Judicial Police of Antwerp launched 8 investigations about trading and trafficking in human beings committed by loverboys. Loverboys are mostly young men who seduce (teenage) girls and finally manipulate them into prostitution. Such sexual exploitation is a form of human trafficking.

Within the framework of those investigations, the Federal Judicial Police of Antwerp arrested 16 persons, of whom 6 were convicted.
