The ‘Stampe en Vertongen Fly In’ event is organised every year by the Stampe en Vertongen Museum, located in the Antwerp airport. This event pays tribute to Jean Stampe and Maurice Vertongen, two aviation pioneers who founded the aircraft factory and the airport of Antwerp in 1923. 2015 marked the 25th anniversary of the event, organised this year on 16 and 17 May.

A static air show displayed aircraft from the WWII period, as well as more recent models. In this jubilee year, the public could also attend a real air show, authorised and supervised by the General Directorate of Air Transport of the FPS Mobility and Transport. The Ministry of Defence also took part in the event by providing one F16 and one C130 aircraft (static show), one A109 helicopter (display) as well as the‘ Red Devils’ aerobatics team. The ‘Stampe en Vertongen Fly In’ attracted about 10,000 visitors. The Aviation Police (Deurne section) supervised the event, in cooperation with colleagues of the Antwerp police zone. Everything ran smoothly.
