The Federal Judicial Police of Namur, supported by the Highway Police of Namur, intercepted a lorry with two Dutch citizens on board on the E411 motorway. This lorry transported two excavators, which quickly appeared to be stolen. One of them had been stolen in Namur and the other one in Froidchapelle on 11 June (the latter theft had moreover been reported in the media by the machine’s owner).

The investigators of the Traffic/Crime section of the Federal Judicial Police of Namur followed the trail to a man domiciled in Châtelet who managed a garage in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre.

Searches conducted on the man’s property led to the discovery of a stolen double axle trailer as well as spare parts of a BMW vehicle stolen in Fosses-la-Ville in May. An arrest warrant was issued by the investigating judge against he garage owner.
