Royal visit to the Special Units

Recent events show more than ever the need for well-trained and well-equipped Special Units to combat the terrorist threat. In this context, His Majesty King Philippe brought a visit to the Directorate of Special Units (DGJ/DSU) of the Federal Police. He was accompanied by Minister of Justice Koen Geens and Minister of Home Affairs Jan Jambon, who were on ‘familiar territory’. They had indeed already come to the ‘de Witte de Haelen’ complex on 5 March 2015 to announce an increase in the allocated resources.

During a demonstration, the King could observe the efficiency and skills of the DSU members, assisted by a helicopter of the Directorate of Air Support.
